What It’s Like Meeting Women in Costa Rica

David and Gretel’s love story is one for the books. They met through our Costa Rica dating service and began exchanging letters. In the beginning, it didn’t seem as if fate was on their side, as there was some confusion with the delivery of the letters.

“We have done a few letters before the social, but things got confused and the letters dropped off…”

Eager to meet Gretel in person, however, David took a chance and invited her to our socials in Costa Rica. He didn’t expect her to come. He didn’t think his invitation went through due to a problem with the letters.

But when he arrived at the venue, his heart skipped a beat. There she was, waiting for him. Their eyes met, and they knew in their hearts that this is meant to be.

“…she was there at the table and she was waiting for me, and it was just magic.”

David had been waiting for that day to come. He had been on a quest for the woman who would be his wife and had no interest in playing games.

“I wanted somebody who would be my wife…I want somebody for the rest of my life.”

Gretel felt the same way about David. The moment she first saw him at the socials, she knew instantly that he was the one for her.

“I wasn’t sure how to react. Should I wait until he gets to my table?”

When he arrived at the table, she informed the translator about her initial exchange of letters with him. And the next thing she knew, he was standing in front of her, arms wide open.

“He extended his arm, stood up, and he hugged me…I already know it was him.”

For Gretel, it was love at first sight, but she made sure to examine David’s sincerity in his actions. She realized he had come all the way to Costa Rica to meet her in person, and he had opened his arms to her with love.

“…everything summed up and to me, it was very emotional.”

As if witnessing a romantic scene from a movie, the entire venue erupted into applause. Everyone was overjoyed for David and Gretel, who had finally reconnected and met each other in person.

“It was like we were in a mini wedding!”

“And I couldn’t control my emotions. I was crying because it was of the emotions, and here we are,” she continued.

David and Gretel’s language barrier doesn’t stop them from communicating.

“She understands a lot of English. She doesn’t speak it much, but she understands.”

They communicate a lot through Google Translate, and her daughter also helps to bridge that gap. The language barrier is no match for these lovebirds. They find it humorous and simply repeat themselves multiple times to ensure they’re on the same page.

“Google translate has played some funny jokes on us, but I understand what he likes.”

“It’s spending time together, talking, touching each other, feeling each other’s chemistry…” she continued.

For Gretel, it’s the simple things that matter. She wants to feel a real connection with someone, not just through letters. She wants to feel their smell, their touch, and everything in between. She found that with David.

David and Gretel are taking their relationship to the next level, “I already asked her to marry me, and she said yes.”

Gretel is still finishing her master’s degree, but they’ve already planned their wedding. David is coming back to Costa Rica for Gretel’s graduation. After that, he’ll bring her and her daughter to the United States for the wedding.
